I’ll try to keep this short, but if you ever wanted proof as to why Conservapedia doesn’t feature on any list of conservative websites (RightLinks – 121 entries, no CP; Listing of all known Conservative web sites – 388 entries, no CP. So much for the “trustworthy” encyclopedia that’s supposed to be saving baby conservatives from the evils of Wikipedia), it’s this: Firstly, Andy Schlafly promotes idiots like their resident “reds-under-the-bed” McCarthy-ite Rob Smith (no, not the really cool guy from The Cure) who continuously finds “commie” (who in the real word actually still uses that word??) plots everywhere, which he needs to write about, using a kind of English that would make a third grader blush. Just have a gander at his contributions; they’re most… enlightening. (Why are most admins on Conservapedia semi-literate. Maybe John Patti will be able to inform me. maybe it’s a requirement to be a CP admin?) Then he compounds the problem by not exercising any control over the gibberish they spew. (Then again, when an “encyclopedia” has an article titled “Homosexual Public Indecency Tolerated in San Francisco” you know that content – and certainly not family-friendly content – isn’t high on their list.)
I’m quite aware that the good folks over at Conservapedia aren’t too fond of their current President. It might be because he’s a Democrat, it might even be because he’s black (certainly in Andy’s case, it’s probably because Obama whipped his butt whilst they worked together on the Harvard Law Review). Good old Rob (who was blocked in a wonderful moment of irony by resident parodist Jpratt for “Inserting liberal multiculturalism / world view into articles”) decides to ignore the usual “he’s not American’ and “he’s a secret Muslim” drivel and goes straight for planting a burning cross on the rose garden.Because, when you stoop to the levels he has, it’s way past party politics and very deep into ‘I don’ wan’ no darkie in mah White House” territory. condron.us
You see, Pres. Obama had the audacity to say that we should be kind to animals. Now, in what passes for Rob’s mind, this means that because way back in 1933, the Nazis passed a law banning cruelty to animals, that Obama is, by association, a Nazi. I’ll say that again – Rob Smith somehow manages to equate President Obama saying we should be kind to animals, with the policies of the Nazi party. He even goes on to say “Perhpas (sic) this area needs more study.” You go ahead, Bobby-boy. I await the results of you research with bated breath, as I do news of your being admitted to a care facility, because you are clearly a very sick and paranoid individual.
I said this would be short, because when confronted with a moron of such monumental proportions, words fail me.
No wonder, self-respecting (they do exist, right?) conservatives continue to shun Conservapedia.
