It must be kinda sad to be Andrew Schlafly. Especially when you realise that he’s reached the point where he can no longer tell who is and isn’t a bona fide editor on his little site. What makes it worse is that firstly, he can’t seem to tell who his students are and secondly, it would appear as if Andy has reached the stage where unless you repeat back the drivel he’s fed you in class, he won’t mark your work.
We’ve already seen the case where he deleted homework, rather than mark it. This time round, he simply refuses to mark another student’s homework, citing as a reason, “UNGRADED. ANSWERS SEEM IMPLAUSIBLE AND STEREOTYPICAL, SUCH AS THE “15-PERSON PASSENGER VAN.” “REFORAMATION”??? SEEMS A LIKE A MISTAKE AN UNINFORMED PUBLIC SCHOOL PERSON WOULD MAKE.–Andy Schlafly 13:40, 13 September 2009 (EDT)”
Well, given that most of Andy’s course is implausible, one would think that implausible answers would be the norm. However, Andy doesn’t stop there. The student, then pops up on his talk page to apologise, saying, “I’m sorry about the quality of my homework this past week.”
This sparks a tirade of abuse and sarcasm from Schlafly that is completely unprofessional, totally uncalled for and clearly shows that the man should not be allowed anywhere near children. He does not have the faintest idea how to be an educator – only an indoctrinator. If a public school teacher were to treat a pupil like this, Schlafly would be leading the mob to the school gates. And yet, he is such a thundering buffoon that he can’t seem to see how disgusting his behaviour is. Then again, he can probably justify it by saying to himself, “Oh, she was probably a troll.” If that’s the case, Schlalfy, and you can no longer distinguish between real and fake students, don’t you think that signifies just how badly your project has failed? As it is, it only the Terry Koeckritz, John Patti and Richard Jensen (hmm… maybe an article on him next) show.
He starts off by mocking her name, referring to her as “Lydia” throughout. He then goes on to mock her spelling and almost immediately, leaps onto his favourite hobby horse of “how long have you been in a public school?” He then also gets creepy and tries to extract personal information from her, so he can “contact her lecturers at Liberty College.”
Here’s a good example: “No kidding, “Lydia”! Tell you what, after you learn how to spell “commitment”, let me know which online course you’re taking at Liberty University (not “college”) and I’ll put in a good word with the professor for you.” Remember – this is a “teacher” speaking to a “pupil” who has asked for help. What a charming man he is.
What’s doubly ironic about all of this is that during the course of the conversation, and his mocking her for her spelling, Schlafly comes up with the following gem:
“several students missed the first lecture do (sic) to other commitments”
That’s not even even a spelling error – that’s simply failing at the English language, something that he does on a regular basis, despite his own pitiful attempts to weasel out of arguments by pointing out the spelling errors of others. (It’s only ever spelling he corrects, by the way. Clearly grammar is far beyond his capabilities.)
What makes it doubly ironic, is that during his little tirade, Andy manages to exhibit exactly the kind of behaviour he accuses Liberals of. Either the man is the best parodist around, or else he’s becoming seriously unhinged. Either way, parents should not allow him near their children. He’s dangerous.
Even more so now that it’s reached the point where he can no longer tell friend from foe and can only respond to criticism (or anything that doesn’t quite fit into Andy’s World for that matter) with childish rants and comments. These are not the actions of a grown man, but rather of a petulant brat.
