There are times when racist bigot and Conservapedia founder Andrew Schlafly makes my skin crawl.
It has nothing to do with his rabid hatred of the poor, black kid who upstaged him at Harvard, nor with his mind-boggling stupidity regarding every subject under the sun. It’s when he combines that dull ignorance with a self-satisfied smugness and you just know that deep-down he thinks he’s being really clever and witty. The reality is, of course, that he comes across as a smarmy git, possibly one rung up from the crass idiocy of Ken Demyer. You can almost picture him grinning and going, “Hyuk! Hyuk! That’ll show ’em. Look how clever I am.”
His latest venture has been into his pet subject of climate change. Now, I’ve illustrated the fact here on countless occasions that Schlafly doesn’t have the faintest inkling of how it all works. During the past US winter, he was reduced to saying things like “Record snowfall! What about global warming?” with no apparent understanding of just where all that snow was coming from.
Then came summer, and Schlafly pounced on the fact that Orange County was having unseasonably cooler weather to once again denounce “global warming” – handily ignoring the “unseasonal” bit of the equation. Once the heat wave hit, with record temperatures, drought and Presidential hopeful Rick Perry literally praying for rain, he passed off any questions about the heat with a “So? It’s summer.”
However, now he’s outdone himself in the smarmy git stakes. It seems there was a rather large earthquake in Colorado – well, large by Colorado standards. Fortunately, nobody seems to have been killed or injured, which must have annoyed Andy – that man really loves him some graves to dance on. Still, you can just picture his shit-eating grin as he typed this turd:
“Colorado experiences largest quake in more than 40 years.” Is there any way that liberals can link it to their hoax about global warming?
Just when you think the “trustworthy” encyclopaedia couldn’t get any more stupid…
