Well, I was expecting the birthers to commence wailing the minute the Georgia announcement was made, and they haven’t proven me wrong. After all, this has nothing to do with Obama’s eligibility and everything to do with their hatred of having a black man in the White House. The legal system works for them, until it disagrees with them and then the legal system is wrong!
No doubt Orly Taitz and her coven – who are, no doubt, paying a pretty little price for Ms Taitz’s “services”… remember, this is a lawyer who lost to an empty chair – will scurry off in search of yet another judge willing to hear their case, conveniently forgetting that this was a pretty conservative judge that ruled against them.
However, let me start off by saying that I’m very impressed with World Nut Daily’s (so far) muted response. Their article on the matter, seems to steer clear of any hysterical ranting, and merely expresses mild disappointment at the ruling and the fact that Obama chose not to appear. Even a secondary article, wherein a California Bench denied another birther court case, is fairly toned down. However, I’m sure we’ll soon see some ranting, spittle-flecked piece of prose from Jerome Corsi or Joseph Farah – after all, they have books to sell.
A typical reaction is from the far-from-impartial “Impeach Obama Campaign” who scream “Thanks A Lot Georgia, For Shredding Our Constitution!” I hadn’t come across these knuckle-draggers before, and possibly… just possibly… they might be worth a closer look – if only for comedic purposes. Their article begins in dramatic fashion:
On Friday, February 3, 2012 the death knell of America the Beautiful tolled across the fifty states and around the world. An administrative judge in the state of Georgia rewrote the Constitution and ruled in favor of putative president Barack Hussein Obama declaring him a Natural Born Citizen and eligible to be on their state ballot.
Our rule of law is no more. Our Constitution is no more. Obama, Soros, state media, activist judges and all the ‘powers that be’ of a New World Order sealed our fate.
and it goes downhill from there. Just to give you an indication of the kind of people reading/posting on this blog, we have the following gem from somebody calling themselves “Seeks the truth:”
So now we know the next Presidential run. It will be two anchor babies. One from Mexico the other from Iran/Iraq. Which ever is put into office(it doesn’t matter) amnesty will be passed by Executive Order. Immigration laws will be relaxed so the terrorists they want in will be allowed again by Executive Order.
They will instill sharia law per Executive Order.
The end of America happened today.
I think “seeks his mind” would be a better nick to go by. Clearly Romney isn’t flavour of the month with these people either… and I’m sorry, but when was Obama born in Iran/Iraq? The rest of the comments aren’t much better.
They go on to quote “constitutional attorney “Mario Apuzzo” who isn’t happy that the judge basically said the equivalent of “Look morons, he was born in America, he qualifies ok? And your so-called evidence is crap.” I thought I’d read that name before… and indeed I had, on Terry Hurlbut’s slightly-less-insane blog.
At least Terry has the decency to qualify Apuzzo’s leanings, saying he “has doubted the Obama eligibility claims since 2008,” so we’re hardly looking at independent analysis here. Just another wing-nut birther, all butthurt because they lost their case to an empty chair. So far, I haven’t come across a single independent voice commentating on the matter, which just goes to show just how much of a joke the birthers have become.
In fact, if you want an example of just how much of a joke they are, let’s look at some comments from Hurbut himself:
Before the trial, he said, “What you call “a friendly venue” is actually a judge willing to—well, judge. Sorry if you don’t like a judge who doesn’t rule according to your predetermined conclusions, but that’s the way it is.”
After the trial, we get: “Has it ever occurred to you that this judge might not have followed procedure?” and “The only people who agree with the result are those who wanted it” and, best of all, “We have discovered a thoroughly corrupt judiciary.”
It’s beautiful denialism. A judge doesn’t rule according to their “predetermined conclusions” and suddenly he’s corrupt.
One wonders where this will end. Probably a FEMA death camp.
Once Terry gets going in the comments section, he’s hard to stop. Now apparently he has “clear and convincing evidence of a fix” and he is “honor bound to report it and characterize it as such.”
